\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>It\u2019s your first eye exam! Now what? <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

First time customers can expect to have several pre-tests done such as a blood sugar test, a blood pressure check, a test to check the pressure of the eyes and pre-screening of the eyes. The ophthalmologist or optometrist will then perform a full and thorough eye examination.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>It\u2019s not your first eye exam but you\u2019ve been delinquent\u2026How often should you get your eyes checked?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

At Courts Optical we recommend that you get your eyes tested every two years depending on your age, risk factors and whether you currently wear corrective lenses. It is best to attend earlier if any eye problems occur or if advised by your ophthalmologist or optometrist.<\/p>\n

So, you\u2019ve had your lenses for some time\u2026How often should they be updated?\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Lenses should be updated if a change of prescription has occurred or if they are damaged and in need of replacement. In the case of contact lenses, these should be replaced or updated based on the recommendations of your ophthalmologist or optometrist. Lenses can also be updated to take advantage of newer technology and lens types which have become available.<\/p>\n

Your New Year\u2019s Resolution is to be more health conscious\u2026Did you know that certain vitamins and minerals play a key role in improved eyesight? <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Vitamins C, E, A and zinc along with carotenoids like lutein and zeaxanthin all help to protect they eyes macula, lens and cornea. Carrots and green leafy vegetables are considered some of the best foods for your eyes as the eye vitamins and antioxidants mentioned above.<\/p>\n
