Tannis Sees a Bright Future for Brand

Managing Director of the Unicomer Barbados Group, Trisha Tannis, described a bright future for the Courts Optical brand, as the company celebrated its 10th anniversary. Speaking with the media during the company’s annual commemoration, Tannis announced plans for the eye-care store to expand its range of eye wear, and family packages. “We tend to see that even near-sightedness or farsightedness tends to run in families, and therefore you can look out for a lot more family-friendly packages from us. “You can look out for the best in glass technology and great service in terms of our optometrists, so the future is very bright and of course more high-end brand name frames and frames for everybody in the family,” she said. The decade of festivities was held at the Courts Optical branch in Bridgetown, The City on Friday, where some lucky customers received gifts and packages in appreciation for their longterm patronage. Tannis affirmed Courts Optical’s dedication to providing both fashion- and economically-conscious options for all consumers. “Today is a very special day for us with the COURTS Optical Universe, we took the market a little bit by storm, or surprise I should say, with our legacy brand being associated with FAE (Furniture, Appliance and Electronics). “When we broke into optical, it was a very pleasant surprise for all, particularly for our customer base. The distinctive factor we brought was glasses on hire purchase, or financing for glasses, which was totally unheard of in the industry prior to that. For the last ten years that has continued to be our strength, and not just for consumer financing, but the fact that you found the most diverse varied selection of highend fashion frames,” Tannis said.
