World Sight Day

World Sight Day. Your Eye Health Matters.

Your Vision, Your Health

Your eyes tell a story about your overall health, and regular checkups can make a difference sooner than you think. At Courts Optical, we believe good vision begins with good care. That is why we make it easy to protect your sight through complimentary screenings, trusted professionals, and access to modern clinical tech at locations across the Caribbean.

World Sight Day 2025: A Call to Care

World Sight Day 2025 falls on October 9, a global reminder of how precious vision is. This annual observance is meant to encourage everyone, everywhere to reflect on eye health, celebrate gains, and recommit to preventing blindness. Use this day as motivation to book a free exam, remind loved ones to care for their sight, and take steps toward healthier vision for yourself.
It’s more than a campaign, it’s a moment to pause and remember that good vision underpins every part of life: work, family, learning, community. Let October be your trigger to act.

Screen Time, Eyestrain, and Digital Risks

In our digital world, many people spend hours each day on screens. Prolonged screen use can lead symptoms like dry eyes, blurred vision, fatigue, and headaches. As eyes age, they also respond differently to screens: slower focus adjustment, reduced tear production, and increased sensitivity to glare all make screen work more demanding. Excess screen time may also contribute to worsening myopia ( short sightedness) and other risks over the long term. That’s why combining good screen habits with regular exams is so important.

Care You Can Trust

Each Courts Optical branch is staffed by fully qualified, locally registered optometrists who take the time to understand your lifestyle and needs. Whether you spend your days outdoors in bright sunlight or indoors in front of screens, our team provides personalized guidance using non-contact, state of the art equipment. You will leave knowing where your vision stands and what next steps are right for you.

Free Screenings, Real Peace of Mind

Our complimentary vision screenings are quick, comfortable, and an excellent way to take charge of your eye health. Eye conditions like glaucoma, cataracts, or diabetic retinopathy often develop with few early symptoms. A free screening can flag changes before they affect quality of life. At Courts Optical, we make caring for your eyes easy and confident.

How Eyes Change as We Age

Our eyes evolve with us over time, and some changes are natural but many can be managed or detected early. Around age 40, the lens of the eye becomes less flexible becoming harder to focus on close objects. As we grow older, the risk of conditions like age-related macular degeneration, cataracts and glaucoma increases. Macular degeneration affects central vision and is more common in people 55 and older however there are exceptions. Tear production also tends to decline, increasing dryness and irritation. Because many of these changes begin subtly, regular exams are essential to spot shifts before they impact vision (and ultimately your job performance).

Our Commitment to Your Eyes

From the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out, we put your vision first. Courts Optical’s trusted care, accessible services, and stylish options make us the top choice in the Caribbean for eye health. Come in for your free exam and see the difference professional, caring service can make.
