Freeport, 04/05/2022:- Unicomer (Trinidad) Ltd is the home of Courts Optical, a brand that places clinical focus on the health of the eyes. The company is enthusiastic to partner with and provide value added packages to the Trinidad and Tobago Blind Welfare Association. These benefits will support their ‘Client Registration Card’ programme which was launched in October 2021 in conjunction with the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services.

“As of 1st of March 2022 any member that holds a Client Registration Card from the TTBWA can access a valued added packaged on measuring, fitting, adjusting, and adapting optical products at Courts Optical. This will benefit members who are visually impaired. Additionally, discounts on non-promotional furniture and electrical items at Courts, Lucky Dollar, Ashley HomeStore and RadioShack can also be accessed” explained, Shahad Q. Ali, Public Relations Officer at Unicomer (Trinidad) Ltd.

Approximately 60,000 persons are expected to benefit from the programme and Unicomer (Trinidad) Ltd is proud to be one of the first companies to partner with the TTWBA to improve the value of the Client Registration Card programme. The company notes that the Government of Trinidad and Tobago has lifted VAT and Custom Duties on several items that are tailored to those with disabilities. Unicomer (Trinidad) Ltd is happy to join in the progression of benefits to those who may be visually impaired, vulnerable, or disadvantaged in our society.

Executive Officer of the Blind Welfare Association Mr. Kenneth Suratt was grateful for the offer made by Unicomer (Trinidad) Ltd. “Our membership may require Optical devices for style or to assist them to use their remaining vision optimally. As technology advances for the visually impaired, we are hopeful that Courts Optical will continue to provide effective solutions for our membership, coupled with their existing offers. Working together we could build an inclusive and accessible society for persons with disabilities that is sustainable”.

The partnership is expected to be evaluated on annual basis to strengthen the relationship between Unicomer (Trinidad) Ltd and the Trinidad and Tobago Blind Welfare Association.
